What's your true value?

It's funny how often price defines how we treat something.  Recently Rich went to the store to get me some earbuds for running.  It wasn't a big deal for me, so I just told him to grab a pair that he thought would work well.  He found a pair of earbuds that were on clearance for $14.  In the grand scheme of things $14 is fairly reasonable for a pair of running earbuds.  When he brought the earbuds home, I took them out of the packaging and sat them on the counter for my run the next day.  I ran with them the following morning and LOVED them.  In spite of how much I enjoyed them, I tossed them on the sink after my run and proceeded with my day.
Since I raved about them so much, Rich decided to go get a pair for himself.  He choose to go to a different store because the color selection at the store he went to originally didn't offer the color he wanted.  Upon arriving at the store he found the exact same earbuds for $50.  Rich sent me a text notifying me of what a great deal we got on my earbuds.  After I read his text I immediately went to find my earbuds and placed them delicately on a shelf in my closet where I knew for sure none of the kids could get to and they would not get destroyed.  I found it interesting how my perception of the earbuds changed in view of their cost.  It caused me to treat them completely different. I wonder if we caught sight of the value that God places on us, would we would choose to treat ourselves and look at ourselves differently. Today I challenge you to look at yourself through the eyes of Christ.  Look at yourself through the eyes of God who was willing to sacrifice his own Son so that he could have a relationship with you.  That's pretty powerful.
Be Blessed
